Theo Epstein is Born to Crush the Curses

On this day December 29th in 1973 Philip G. Epstein, an American screenwriter, best known, along with his identical twin, Julius, and Howard Koch, for writing the 1942 Academy Award-winning screenplay for Casablanca, welcomes his fraternal twin grandsons Paul and Theo Epstein into the world.

In twenty-eight years, the 60-second younger brother of Paul, Theo, will become the youngest GM in major league baseball history when the Red Sox hired him in 2002.

Theo Epstein became the youngest general manager (GM) in the history of MLB, when the Boston Red Sox hired him at the age of 28 on November 25, 2002.
In 2004, the Red Sox won their first World Series championship in 86 years and won another championship in 2007.

On October 21, 2011, he resigned from his job in Boston to become president of baseball operations for the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs won the 2016 World Series, their first World Series championship in 108 years.
